After experiencing frustrations with the shops he had been at previously, he made the leap to open Audio Innovations on June 1, 2015. Jim hired an installer (Jason) after working with him at other facilities in the area. Jason shares the same customer-first approach to delivering top-quality solutions.
The store covers an impressive 4,000 square feet and features a recently remodeled showroom. Jim partnered with 5 Axis to create a new sales counter, custom interactive displays and product displays. A pair of windows behind the counter lets clients see how work is progressing on their vehicles.
The 2,000-square-foot installation bay has two massive roll-up doors, large enough for vans, boats and transport trucks. The wood shop has all the classic tools like a drill press, table saw and dual router lifts. An assortment of router templates speeds up the fabrication process and gives his clients a custom solution without breaking the bank. He’s also invested in a CNC router and laser, allowing for quick and repeatable custom creations.
The Solutions
Audio Innovations specializes in car audio, security, safety, radar detectors and lighting upgrades for cars, trucks and SUVs. The shop also handles marine, motorcycle and powersports upgrades. The decision to focus on a single category allows him to maintain good inventory levels so clients can have the solutions they want installed quickly. Focusing on a specific niche market allows Jim and Jason to stay current on the latest technology and integration trends.

Jason owns a custom Chevrolet Colorado mini-truck and attends many local truck and car shows. Jim competes in both IASCA and EMMA sound-offs with his Dodge Ram. These opportunities let the team show off the store’s capabilities and keep them focused on audio system designs, installations and calibrations that sound magnificent. Audio Innovations has hosted IASCA and EMMA sound-offs at the store. These events are an excellent opportunity for consumers to see and hear car audio systems that sound magnificent and get ideas for their personal vehicles.
